Senseless Secret Suffering: Inside a German Animal Testing Laboratory
In collaboration with:
Tracks produced a film (and several social media versions) for Cruelty Free International, edited from hundreds of hours of footage from an investigation revealing the shocking truth about what happens to monkeys, cats, and dogs in a German animal testing laboratory.
The video went viral with almost 1.5 million people watching the investigative film.
The investigation led to calls from primatologists such as Desmond Morris and Jane Goodall for the closure of the laboratory, while a petition to close the laboratory was signed by over a million people.
In 2020 the German authorities suspended the laboratories license and ordered its closure. A statement released by the German police indicates that vertebrate animals at the site of the lab had been treated in ways that would contravene the German Animal Welfare Act and would, in principle, be punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.
