In the heart of Mauritius, a sinister industry thrives, dealing in the lives of innocent monkeys subjected to the horrors of animal testing. Since 2009, our relentless investigators have embarked on five daring missions to this island, shedding light on the inherent cruelty inflicted upon these primates. This year, after a decade-long hiatus, we returned for our latest groundbreaking investigation in collaboration with One Voice.
Our Findings
EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE UNCOVERED: Infiltrating the monkey business, we secured exclusive footage from 6 out of 7 primate "breeding farms" in Mauritius. This raw documentation exposes the treatment of monkeys freshly torn from their jungle homes, trapped in a cycle of despair.
THE GRIM REALITY: Little monkeys, violently extracted from carriers, their tails and necks gripped, arms pinned against their backs, face isolation in cages as bleak and minuscule as their spirits. Their cries, met with laughter or indifference, mark the beginning of their agonizing journey.
UNVEILING THE HORRORS: Quarantine follows, a mere precursor to the unimaginable suffering that awaits. Tattooed with identification numbers, and subjected to relentless tests, the injured, infertile, sick, or those with minor skin conditions are callously discarded as if they were mere trash. The survivors are herded into overcrowded enclosures, breeding grounds for stress, palpable throughout. Epidemics, especially of TB, run rampant due to the squalid conditions.
MASS SLAUGHTERS AND EXPLOITATION: The grim reality peaks with mass slaughters, claiming up to 200 innocent lives daily. This shocking revelation unfolds the exploitation that these creatures endure at the hands of the very species claiming dominance.
